We contract with a group of well-trained nurses to return your phone calls. The nurse can help you to determine if your child needs to be seen or if home care measures are OK until the office opens. Remember, if there is a question or problem that the nurse cannot answer, they will contact the on-call physician for assistance. The nurses will also assist in referring you for after hours care if it is needed.

As you know, our nurses and staff are available by telephone from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday and from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday mornings at the east office location. Occasionally, your child may have an urgent medical need when our office is closed. We remain available 24 hours a day to take your urgent calls. However, as a result of the high cost of after hours nurse triage, we must charge $15.00 per call for these services. Generally, this is a non-covered charge for most insurance companies and will be the responsibility of the patient.

Urgent medical calls do not include prescription refills, referral requests, appointment requests, inquiries regarding our office hours, etc. These matters should be handled during our regular office hours.
