Dr. Frizzell has remained active in the teaching program and serves as volunteer faculty in the Department of Pediatrics.

In 1987, he left the University and UTMG to join Health First Medical Group where he served as Chief of Pediatrics from 1989 to 1997 and as Medical Director from 1997 to April 2001. In April 2001 he joined Pediatric Consultants, P.C. Dr. Ellis remains a Clinical Assistant Professor in the University of Tennessee Department of Pediatrics on a voluntary basis.
