As many of you know, our practice has been participating in a Learning Collaborative in association with the National Initiative of Child Healthcare Quality. The collaborative focus was on Access and Efficiency. We have completed the collaborative and have successfully implemented Open Access scheduling for most of our physicians.

What does this mean to me?

We have reduced the amount of time you must wait for a preventative care visit from 70 days to 0 to 3 days for most physicians.
A patient can see their physician 3 out of 4 times regardless of the reason they are being seen.
We have reduced the time it takes from sign in until the completion of the visit by 25% or approximately 20 minutes.
93% of our patients rate their overall visit as very good to excellent.
We have reduced the number of patients that do not show up for an appointment by 10%.

And we're not through, yet! We are continuing to address efficiency issues and work toward even better access to care. This cycle of planning, doing, studying and acting is now a part of how we practice.
